Training and Education

A woman or girl fleeing violence often has just one chance to escape. It is critical that there are people to help in her moment of need.

Our training and education programs empower frontline professionals and community members to become advocates for women and girls fleeing violence.

professional training

We equip frontline professionals, including attorneys, judges, and doctors, with awareness of our clients’ unique challenges, as well as tools to protect them from violence.

community awareness

We speak at universities and law schools and with local community and religious groups to elevate our clients' voices and create a community better able to respond to their needs.

public education

We conduct campaigns to connect the public to our clients’ struggles for justice, using the power of social media, the press, and other communications outlets.

“What I liked most about my training with Tahirih was the emphasis on letting the client be ‘the voice.'”
