Tahirih Justice Center CEO Layli Miller-Muro spoke with The Intercept about how recent immigration enforcement policies have made immigrant survivors of domestic violence afraid to seek help from law enforcement.

Miller-Muro explained that when survivors fear that local police will act as immigration enforcement, “it undermines the value of U visas and creates a chilling effect on immigrants’ willingness to come forward.”
