Tahirih will help conduct model court training for pro bono attorneys

Tahirih Baltimore is partnering with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), World Relief, and the Baltimore Immigration Court to provide a hands-on training for attorneys looking to practice in immigration court.

This free, one-day training on April 25 will include a mock hearing in front of a Baltimore immigration judge. No prior immigration experience is necessary.

After the training, participating attorneys will have the opportunity to sign up for pro bono cases with Tahirih, and provide legal representation to immigrant women and girls seeking protection from gender-based human rights abuses.

“Tahirih is able to have its immense impact because of the pro bono attorneys who volunteer their time and expertise for our clients,” said Morgan Weibel, Director of Tahirih Baltimore. “In turn, Tahirih conducts effective and comprehensive trainings to fully support them as they prepare their cases.”
