On June 8, 2023, Tahirih Justice Center held our annual signature event, Journey to Justice 2023: An Evening with the Tahirih Justice Center. This year’s event celebrated and acknowledged the many years of service and impact that Tahirih’s staff, supporters, and partners, have had on immigrant survivors of gender-based violence seeking safety in the United States.
The in-person event, held at The Showroom in Washington, D.C., was hosted by Tahirih’s Board of Directors Chair, Tara Hogan Charles, and featured remarks from Tahirih’s CEO Archi Pyati and a special recognition to Tahirih sponsors and most impactful partners.
Our featured speaker was Mara Chin Loy, one of Tahirih’s invaluable pro bono attorneys and an associate at Skadden, Arps, Meagher, and Flom., who talked about her experience supporting Tahirih clients and what her work means to her as a daughter of immigrants.
This event provides the opportunity to raise critical operating funds for Tahirih and bring together a diverse group of people to celebrate Tahirih’s resilient clients and the work to end gender-based violence for immigrant survivors. You can watch a recording of the program here.
