In a letter to the editor for the New York Times, Tahirih Chief of Policy Archi Pyati criticized new policies that effectively shut the door on immigrant families and unaccompanied children seeking asylum in the United States. 

“This rejection of asylum seekers who approach our southern border is not only bad policy; it also represents a shameful new low for an administration rapidly rolling back legal protections for asylum seekers,” Pyati wrote.
