SB 1705 / HB 3932 is a commonsense, bipartisan bill that sets the legal minimum marriage age at 18, with an exception for minors emancipated by court order.     The Tahirih Justice Center, along with the American Immigration Council, the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, Human Rights First, and KIND, filed this amicus brief to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in support of the state of Washington’s case against the executive order that bans refugees and citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the United States. The law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP led the drafting.
