Natasha Piette Basheer joined the Tahirih Justice Center as Development Officer at the San Francisco Bay Area office to help support the organization in achieving its fundraising objectives. She collaborates with the Executive Director and wider team to further strengthen and advance our major gifts program, with a purpose to cultivate meaningful, lasting relationships with Tahirih’s donors.

Natasha has more than six years of international experience in donor engagement, campaign coordination, and project management with nonprofits focusing on women and girls’ rights. Before Tahirih, she served as Campaign Coordinator of Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) based in London, UK. Prior to WEN, she served as Network Coordinator of the Gender & Development Network (GADN).

Natasha lived and worked in the United Kingdom for over a decade, where she also completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She also volunteered with organizations such as Amnesty International UK on campaigns to protect human rights globally, and conducted fieldwork research on sanitation and hygiene issues affecting women and girls in tea estate communities of rural Sri Lanka.

“I am deeply motivated by Tahirih’s diligence and determination to secure justice for immigrant women and girls seeking a safe life in the United States. The emphasis on survivor-centered services provides opportunities for Tahirih’s courageous clients to live and thrive with dignity.”
