Mahin joined Tahirih in 2020. She is an attorney and licensed social worker. As an Association of Women Attorneys Foundation Fellow in the Houston office, Mahin represents immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. Prior to joining Tahirih, Mahin completed internships with Catholic Charities, Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, and the Tahirih Justice Center as a Summer Public Interest Fellow. She completed her social work field placements with United Way and the Fort Bend Women’s Center. Mahin is a recipient of the George Foundation Scholarship, James E. Crowther Scholarship, Public Interest Fellowship, and Trauma Education Fellowship. She has completed the 40-hour Sexual Assault Advocate Training administered by the Office of the Attorney General. Mahin also completed Basic Mediation training at the University of Houston. Mahin is also certified as an American Sign Language Interpreter.
