Kim Walker joined Tahirih in 2021. As Chief of People, Culture, and Strategy, she works to align Tahirih’s values with its policies and practices; manages the development and implementation of organizational strategy; and ensures principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in all aspects of Tahirih’s work. Prior to joining Tahirih, Kim served as the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Arabella Advisors. Prior to this, she was the organization’s Associate Director of Learning and Development. In addition to her work at Tahirih, Kim serves as an adjunct professor at several universities in the areas of organizational development, leadership, management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her article, “Understanding and Disrupting White Supremacy at Work: An Action and Inquiry Guide for OD Practitioners,” was published in 2020 in the journal Organization Development Review. She has presented at numerous conferences on her research and practice over the years, including the Collective Impact Action Summit, Organization Development Network Conference, and Upswell.
Tahirih’s commitment to provide comprehensive, client-centered services and supports to immigrant women and girls fleeing violence while working to live into its own values more fully is inspiring.
