    The Tahirih Justice Center is disappointed by the decision of the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to keep the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy in effect while it reviews the District Court’s preliminary injunction. Despite this temporary setback, Tahirih is hopeful that the Court of Appeals’ ultimate decision will find that the policy is against the rule of law.

    Tahirih submitted supplemental comments on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) proposed revisions to the fee waiver request form. While USCIS has revised the form in order to accomodate the unique circumstances of survivors, other unnecessary burdens remain. Tahirih urges USCIS to remove two other requirements that pose as barriers to legal remedies for survivors.

  • Tahirih Comments on Tip Form

    The Tahirih Justice Center submitted comments in opposition to the proposed new Form G-1530. The new proposed “tip” form will allow individuals to report claims of immigration benefit fraud anonymously, which will embolden violence abusers and make it easier for them to carry out their threats.
