Working for a Bahá’í-inspired Organization

Named after a Bahá’í heroine who lived in the 1800s, the Tahirih Justice Center is inspired by the principles of the Bahá’í Faith and was founded to promote Bahá’í principles of gender equality and justice. It is not, however, funded or governed by Bahá’í institutions. Likewise, its purpose is not to promote the Bahá’í Faith, but to promote Bahá’í principles and to be of service to women and girls in need. Individuals who work for Tahirih, its Board of Directors, and its clients reflect a wide range of diverse religious and non-religious backgrounds. For more information about the Bahá’í Faith, please see www.bahai.org.

Fellowship Opportunities

The Tahirih Justice Center receives support from dedicated fellows who enable us to increase our capacity and serve more women and girls in need. Tahirih has received support from distinguished fellowship programs—including Equal Justice Works and New Voices—which have enabled us to serve more women and girls in need.

If you have a fellowship project that you would like to conduct in partnership with Tahirih, please contact services@tahirih.org.

Bahá’í Service Fellowship

Tahirih’s Bahá’í Service Fellowship is a full-time, two-year position. It was created to enable the recipient to engage in service to women and girls in need, while dedicating time during the year to a personal plan of spiritual development and deepening. The Bahá’í Service Fellow lives with a local Bahá’í host family, and receives a stipend and health insurance.

The Tahirih Justice Center is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis through April 2nd, 2010, from Bahá’ís interested in serving as a paralegal or social services case aide. See complete fellowship description and application.
