Public Policy Attorney (National/Greater DC Office)
Tahirih seeks a Public Policy Attorney to contribute to Tahirih’s efforts to secure stronger protections and supports for immigrant survivors of gender-based violence, including under U.S. asylum laws, the Violence Against Women Act, and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. The Public Policy Attorney will be responsible for elevating Tahirih’s national advocacy initiatives, forging and mobilizing diverse coalitions, and engaging bipartisan allies to press for laws, regulations, policies, and precedent that better protect immigrant women and girls from violence. Volunteer Attorney (Baltimore Office)
Tahirih seeks a volunteer attorney to serve in its Baltimore office. Tahirih does not provide compensation or any benefits for this position. The attorney will conduct intake interviews with prospective clients and assist in providing representation in immigration matters for existing clients. Applicants with immigration law experience and fluency in Spanish are strongly preferred. Candidates must be willing to make a minimum 6-month commitment, although both full-time and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.
